On 28 November 2023, the Board of Trustees unanimously decided to pay 1.75% interest on the retirement savings (basic account, supplementary account and pre-financing account) in the 2023 financial year. This is 0.75% above the BVG minimum interest rate of 1.0% for the 2023 financial year stipulated by the Federal Council. The decision reflects the Board of Trustees' commitment to maintain a steady interest rate on retirement savings over the financial years as far as possible.
In the 2024 financial year, retirement savings will earn interest at the minimum interest rate according to BVG (Swiss Federal Law on Occupational Retirement, Survivors' and Disability Pension Plans) for 2024 of 1.25%. It has additionally been decided that retirement, disability and survivors’ pensions currently in payment will not be increased as of 1 January 2024.
